Pumpkin Week
Thank you to everyone who has donated items for this! We still need some of you to send in your mini pumpkin for your child. We will be doing some math and science activities with the pumpkins and then will decorate them. I know the children will really enjoy this.
Conferences
I have really enjoyed meeting and talking with each of you this week! Continue to encourage your child to read each night and work on sight words. Some of you have expressed that you did not receive “Blue Words”. So I will be sending “Blue Words” out to everyone. I will be testing each child on sight words next week and they will be graduating to the appropriate level (color).
Red Ribbon Week
October 26th – 30th is Red Ribbon Week. We would love to see your children participate in Red Ribbon activities. Activities for the week are printed below. Thank you so much to our homeroom mom, Lisa Barbieri for volunteering to work on our Red Ribbon week poster with our kids.
Monday – “Respect Yourself. Be Drug Free!”
Participation: Wear as much red as possible
Tuesday – “Put a cap on drugs.”
Participation: Crazy hat or crazy hair day
Wednesday – “I have better things to do than drugs.”
Participation: Wear “what they do” such as a scout uniform, their team jersey, club shirt/mascot, musical note on shirt, etc.
Thursday – “Drugs are ridiculous.”
Participation: Wear mis-matched or ridiculous outfits
Friday – “Heroes are Drug Free.”
Participation: Dress as a hero
Field Trip
Our field trip to The Smith Family Farm at the Atlanta History Center is November 4th. Please make sure to send money and permission forms if you have not done so already.
