Notes for the First Day of School
1.
Please do not walk children to class in the morning. I do welcome parents on the first day of school, however, after that hugs and kisses should happen at the bus stop or the front door of the school.
2.
Label all personal belongings. Please put your child’s name on
clothing, lunch box, and backpack. However, please do not put your child’s name on school supplies.
3.
Please wait a couple of weeks to visit your child at lunch. We look forward to you visiting us at lunch, but please wait until after the first two weeks of school. There are a lot of routines to learn before you visit. When visiting please wait for us outside the cafeteria doors. You do not need an appointment. Just show up. :)
4.
When sending money, please be sure to use an envelope with your child's name, teacher, what the money is to be used for, and the amount clearly marked. Send the money to school in your child's take home folder and we will see that it gets to the right place.
5.
It is important that your child’s afternoon transportation is clearly stated before the first day of school. If there is a transportation change, you must send in a handwritten note in your child’s Take Home Folder. Please do not e-mail a transportation change. I cannot guarantee that I will read it before the day ends.
6.
Send in a snack each day. Please make sure these are healthy snacks. Also, please make sure your child's name is marked on both snacks and water bottles. No sweets or candy please.
7.
Check the blog every week. I will post weekly newsletters to keep you informed for classroom activities. The school website will keep you informed of school wide events. Please remember to regularly check the school website as well.
8.
Your child should be dressed appropriately for PE. Sneakers should be worn on PE days. A schedule for you to refer to will be sent home at Meet and Greet and will be listed on the blog. Just look under “Our School Day.”
9.
Our school day starts promptly at 7:50 a.m. Your child may enter the classroom beginning at 7:20 a.m. Please note that any student entering the school building prior to 7:20 may be unsupervised. If a child enters the school building after 7:50, he/she will need to go to the office to receive a tardy pass.
10.
Keep extra clothing in your child’s backpack, just in case. An extra outfit, underwear, and socks kept in your child’s backpack at all times would really help us out.
11.
Please make sure your child wears his/her name tag for the first week of school. Your child’s name tag holds important information to help him/her get through his/her school day.
12.
