The Romer Review
November 3rd 2015
Book Fair
Our Book Fair will be held at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore out by Cumberland Mall. The Book Fair is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th.
Field Trip
Tomorrow we will be going on our field trip tomorrow. Please be sure to pack your child a snack for the morning as we will be eating lunch a lot later than normal. Also, please try to dress your child in a Royal Blue shirt if possible. This just makes it easier to keep track of our kids.
New Rocket Reader
Congratulations to all those who turned in Rocket Readers this month. You are one step closer to the reading medal given at the end of the year. November Rocket Readers are being sent home today. Happy Reading!
Thanksgiving Project
Next week we will start working on a new unit called Now and Long Ago. We are in great need of some materials for this project. If anyone would be interested in donating old magazines (you will not get these back), wiggle eyes, tacky glue, shoe boxes, bags of feathers, and poster board it would be greatly appreciated. We will need all these items by next Monday.
Six Flags Read to Succeed
Our class is going to be participating in a Reading Program that will allow your child to earn their own ticket to Six Flags! Your child will need to log six hours of recreational reading to earn this ticket. I think that the holidays is a great time to do this because in the month of December you will not have to compete with Rocket Reader, but I’m going to go ahead and let you get started. Attached you will find a Six Flags Reading log. Just fill out the log and return it when your child returns from the winter holidays in January. I will submit your child’s reading hours and your child will earn their free ticket to Six Flags! Reading Logs are due January 8th.
Thanksgiving
Please remember that on November 23rd – 27th school will be closed due to Thanksgiving holidays. We will see you back here on Monday, November 30th.
Have a wonderful week!
